Fruity French Toast:

Ingredients for french toast:

  1. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  2. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  3. 2 tablespoons sugar
  4. 4 tablespoons butter
  5. 4 eggs (if you don't eat eggs, then use ½ cup cornstarch)
  6. 3/4 cup milk (1 ½ cup milk if you are doing eggless recipe)
  7. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. 8 slices challah, brioche, or white bread (you can use other bread too)
  9. Maple syrup

Sauce:

  1. 2 cups Strawberries or blueberries (pick 1 fruit)
  2. ¼ cup granulated sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  4. ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Homemade whipped cream:

    *You can make with electric mixer or blender*
  1. 1 ½ cup Heavy whipping cream
  2. ¼ cup powdered sugar
  3. ½ tsp vanilla extract

Utensils:

  1. 1 medium pan
  2. 1 saucepan
  3. 1 medium bowl, 1 big bowl
  4. 2 spoons
  5. 1 spatula

Steps for French Toast:

  1. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar and set aside briefly.
  2. In a 10-inch or 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk together cinnamon mixture, eggs, milk, and vanilla and pour into a shallow container such as a pie plate. Dip bread in egg mixture. Fry slices until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side. Serve with syrup.

Steps for blueberry or strawberry sauce:

  1. Place blueberries or strawberries in a small saucepan. Cover with water and add sugar and vanilla. Heat over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a low boil and blueberries just start to break apart.
  2. Bring mixture to a rolling boil. Turn heat down and simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until sauce reaches desired consistency. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, if the sauce gets too thick.
  3. Remove from heat. Serve warm or cold.

Steps for whipped cream:

  1. Place mixer bowl and whisk in freezer for at least 20 minutes to chill.
  2. Pour heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla into the cold bowl and whisk on low then slowly high speed until medium to stiff peaks form.
  3. Do not over beat
