Fruity French Toast: |
Ingredients for french toast: - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 eggs (if you don't eat eggs, then use ½ cup cornstarch)
- 3/4 cup milk (1 ½ cup milk if you are doing eggless recipe)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices challah, brioche, or white bread (you can use other bread too)
- Maple syrup
| Sauce: - 2 cups Strawberries or blueberries (pick 1 fruit)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
| Homemade whipped cream: *You can make with electric mixer or blender*- 1 ½ cup Heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
| Utensils: - 1 medium pan
- 1 saucepan
- 1 medium bowl, 1 big bowl
- 2 spoons
- 1 spatula

Steps for French Toast: - In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar and set aside briefly.
- In a 10-inch or 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk together cinnamon mixture, eggs, milk, and vanilla and pour into a shallow container such as a pie plate. Dip bread in egg mixture. Fry slices until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side. Serve with syrup.

Steps for blueberry or strawberry sauce: - Place blueberries or strawberries in a small saucepan. Cover with water and add sugar and vanilla. Heat over medium-high heat until mixture comes to a low boil and blueberries just start to break apart.
- Bring mixture to a rolling boil. Turn heat down and simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes, or until sauce reaches desired consistency. Add water, one tablespoon at a time, if the sauce gets too thick.
- Remove from heat. Serve warm or cold.

Steps for whipped cream: - Place mixer bowl and whisk in freezer for at least 20 minutes to chill.
- Pour heavy whipping cream, sugar and vanilla into the cold bowl and whisk on low then slowly high speed until medium to stiff peaks form.
